AAC PARENT PROGRAM

Using a lived experience approach, and facilitated by experienced Accessibility Consultant, Social Worker and AAC Mentor, Cayt Weir

A four week program in October 2026, for parents and carers, involves a 2hr workshop each week.

Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)

When: 10-12pm Thursday 8th, 15th, 22rd and 29th October 2026
Where: Training Room, Level 2, 437 Hunter St, Newcastle
Cost: $250 per person (registration essential). CB Daily Living NDIS funding can be used if self, or plan managed. Please reach out to discuss further payment options.

These sessions are practical and inclusive, where all communication methods are valued.

There will be interactive discussions, covering real-world scenarios and inclusive practices. We will also provide useful takeaways and simple strategies for everyday communication (for AAC users and their communication partners).
